The Japanese Peace Pagoda is a majestic view. The Japanese Peace Pagoda is a marvellous creation, which was gifted by Japanese. It is located on a hill around two kilometers from Unawatuna You can see it from the main Unawatuna beach and by climbing the Rumassala hill you will acquire the view. Located a few kilometres from the city of Galle, the Japanese Peace Pagoda is a unique shrine that guarantees peace and solitude to anyone who visits. Stupas are monuments that serve as beacons of peace for people of all nationalities and creeds, and the clean, rounded design of the Unawatuna pagoda exemplifies this. Visitors can walk or drive the shaded path to the Peace Pagoda and they will be rewarded with a towering, white bell-like structure surrounded by gold-painted statues. Sri Lanka has four peace pagodas and there are over 80 which are built worldwide. Built by the Japanese Nipponzan-Myōhōji order in 2005, it was made as a symbol to promote peace in the island. They are monuments designed inside it to inspire peace among all races and creeds.
